The chair was the first the Eames designed for a high-end market. The chairs are made of a high end molded wood, that curves to act a foundation for the leather topings.  New York's Museum of Modern Art has a perminant fixture of these chairs in its collection.

The Eames Lounge Chair appeals to many people still today and had resurgance in 2006.  Although there are many reproductions available, a classic rosewood original chair will go for $7,000 USD.. It is a classic design that has been unaltered since its creation.  In addition to the style, it is also very comfortable The Eames priority in all of their designs was functionality then design.
